What is FamilyWell?

Start with this short video from our clinical team. It covers who we are, who we care for, and how we work alongside your OB/GYN or women’s health practice.

Experts in women’s mental health

Our coaches, therapists, and psychiatric providers specialize in women’s mental health, with expertise supporting women through fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, menopause, and beyond.

Integrated in your OB/GYN care

We work closely with your women’s health provider, so your mental health support is part of the care you already receive.

Care that comes to you

Connect with your care team by phone, text, or video, from home, from work, or even with a baby on your lap.

Covered by most insurance plans

FamilyWell works with most private and public insurance plans. During enrollment, we’ll check your coverage and let you know what you can expect to pay, including any estimated copay.

What is the Collaborative Care program?

FamilyWell’s Collaborative Care program brings your OB/GYN care and mental health support together. Your virtual FamilyWell team works alongside your OB/GYN provider to provide personalized support, with you at the center of your care.

If medication is part of your care plan, it may be prescribed by your OB/GYN with FamilyWell’s guidance or directly by a FamilyWell psychiatric provider.

What to expect in your first weeks with FamilyWell

  1. Week 1

    Get started

    • Meet with an enrollment specialist for a quick intro call to review the program, your insurance coverage, and paperwork.
    • Schedule your intake with a therapist.
  2. Week 2

    Build your care plan

    • Meet with a licensed therapist for your initial assessment.
    • Receive a personalized care plan based on your needs.
    • Get connected with your FamilyWell care team.
  3. Week 3

    Begin your care plan

    • Have your first session with a coach, therapist, or psychiatric provider, depending on your personalized care plan.
  4. Weeks 4+

    Keep making progress

    • Continue regular sessions with your care team based on your needs and goals.
    • Many patients start feeling better within 8–12 weeks, but everyone’s journey is different. We’re here to support you for as long as you need us.

What does it cost and how will I get billed?

Services are covered by most insurance plans including commercial and Medicaid.
Copays/coinsurance may apply for commercially insured.
We will review your insurance eligibility on the intro call.

One difference to know about

Collaborative Care is billed monthly through NEOGA, based on the support you receive that month rather than per visit. If you also see a FamilyWell therapist or psychiatric provider as part of your care plan, you may also have a copay for those visits. We’ll review your coverage and expected costs with you before you get started.
